A mobile-friendly website or a web app can deliver much of what people imagine they need an app for — at a fraction of the cost and with nothing to download. Reserve a full app for when customers will genuinely use it often and you need app-only capabilities.

Be cautious of very cheap "app" offers — they are often basic templates or a website wrapped in an app shell, which may not justify the app format at all. And remember app-store costs: Apple and Google charge developer fees to publish.
